Where are timeshares that are worth it? How can you learn about purchasing timeshares?

Can you answer AKA Dawn Desantis’s question about Timeshares?:

I am interested in timeshares so I would like people who have them to answer this - are they worth it? Where are they located? Where did you get your information on purchasing the timeshare? I know I could buy books or read stuff online about them, but I just wanted to get personal opinions. Thanks for your help.

Timeshares Feedback: Please do not accept answers that are judgmental with no supporting reasoning. Timeshares can be of value or they can be a waste of your money. It depends on how you use them. I have been on both sides of that issue. I am currently utilizing my timeshare and it is a value to me. Please refer to more experienced people at sites such as,, or. Many people have three, four, or more weeks. You will find readily available and good advice. They will point out pros and cons. Timeshare value is a personal decision so become educated on the subject. “Timeshares are for suckers.” is not a complete and most likely not well researched answer. I will say that some timeshare salespeople are less honest than others. After education and if you decide to buy, search the resale market before entertaining offers from the original Timeshare developers. Hope this helps.

Timeshares Feedback: I love my timeshare. You MUST use it. Many people feel that because of the high pressure sales tactics that they are no good. Um…are cars worth it? Often there are high pressure sales tactics when buying cars but everyone seems to buy one and use them. It is NOT a financial investment. I think of it as a money saving investment and an investment in my mental health. The best timeshares to buy are with the big hotel chains and you MUST make sure there is enough flexibility with where and when you can stay. I provided a link fpr more info.
