Can I rent my timeshare week to someone else if I cannot use it?

Answered By Editor

As long as you give advance notice to other members of the timeshare group and it is allowed in your timeshare agreement, you may rent out your time. Timeshare weeks are scheduled well in advance, sometimes years in advance. Unforeseen events may come up that conflict with your scheduled weeks. Since you "own" the property for that allotted time, you may generally let someone else use (or rent out) the timeshare property in your behalf. Be sure to check if there is a clause in your timeshare agreement that may prohibit this.
